Severe Restorations

Severe Restoration involves the remediation of serious scratches, mildew and water damage, as well as reconstruction of missing or destroyed image detail. Older photos, typically from the 1920’s and earlier, often suffer from a great level of distress and need special care. This is where the artist’s eye is truly needed! Usually, a great deal of planning goes into determining the best approach to restore the photo. Severe damage may require painstaking work to recover lost image detail one pixel at a time.
